unidentfied knitted objects

Last semester, the fashion popped up on campus of wearing headbands with large embellishments (i.e., flowers, bows). Not being one to pass up a trend, I found some patterns and knitted up some embellishments of my own.

I love how massive this flower ended up being. However, if I made another, I would adjust the band a little. I like this as an ear-warmer or as an accessory to a hoodie and stretchy pants while I'm studying.

Charlotte said that this one looks like Hello Kitty. I like it, though.

*Have you noticed the embellished headband trend?
*Are you a follower of this trend?
*Do my headbands make you want to be a follower? ;)

If anyone can pull off Hello Kitty, you can.

I'm pretty much in love with both of those. I HAVE noticed the headband trend and while my daughter was one of the pioneers, I have been a little slow to jump on board. You should check out the blog Beautiful Mess by Elsie Flannigan. She has some awesome embellished headbands.

I have noticed this trend in the infant crowd. Not being privy to fashion information outside of baby clothes and "mom" outfits, I can't speak for the rest of the world. Will someone please get me a subscription to Vogue magazine before I completely succumb to elastic waistbands and clunky jewelry? Oh wait I think stretch pants and statement necklaces ARE in fashion... See I definitely need help. Thanks for the tip.

Em- I LOVE THESE!!! So cute! I would totally wear one. And Miranda, how funny- my first thought was 'Wow, she looks like Elsie Flannigan!' (A Beautiful Mess, and yes, check it out.)

Wow--an actual comment from Jessie. You are a successful knitter, indeed! I love my little Hello Kitty girl. :)

And, you definitely need anything you can get your hands on to stay warm in your apartment! It might as well be something stylish.

Ah yes, I have joined the trend! I bought a large white filmy flower in Paris and put it right onto a small headband! I wore it to Church a few weeks ago and delighted my cute 12 year old class! I liked it, but haven't had the courage to wear it again, especially in front of Linda Giler...but I'm gearing up to try it again. I think since I got my Halle Berry haircut (without the Halle Barry face...) it has made a difference! Too much flower, not enough hair. Oh, dee!

I love both of yours, Little Kitty included. You're too cute! And that green color, too cool.

And, that comment from Jessie says a lot too! I guess your Mom and I have turned into commenters only, we're off the posting wagon. Sad, but true. I'm trying!

I have definitely noticed the trend. I like yours better than the ones I've been seeing. The young women in my ward have been wearing ones to church that look like ear warmers for cold-weather sports, I'm not sure I approve.

If Eva saw the Hello Kitty bow, she would want one for sure!!

You are a knitting maniac -- I can't believe how much stuff you find the time to make!
