I had a very long list of Valentines to make and send this week. Due to other constraints upon my time and budget, however, my plans of Valentine magic did not come to pass. Many of you readers were on my list, and I'm really sorry that yours was never created. Today, I thought that I could work on them today and tomorrow and send them out this week. This would, of course, put me behind on the knitting projects I have on the sticks or in my mind. I came to the decision to let the Valentines go. There is no use continually building up creative debt. I am moving on. I'll catch you all next year.
My Valentine's dreams were not completely forsaken, though! I spent quite a few hours this evening making cards for my Relief Society sisters, which satisfied my need to stick buttons and ribbon to awesomely patterned paper.

There is something satisfying about sitting surrounded by so many colors and textures. The one open spot of carpet back there is where I sat. My knees cramped up pretty fast.

These are just a few of the finished products. Happy sight, no?
*Do you ever have to move past unfinished project plans?
*Did you finish your Valentines?
Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

I started knitting a hippo. It has been forsaken and soon to be frogged. Does that count?
"There is no use continually building up creative debt." YES!! I came to the same decision this year as well. There was just no time for valentines, sad but true. At least you still got to make some!
I haven't seen those cute valentine papers before. Working with paper does the soul good.
I am so proud of you for "letting the valentines go." Letting go of things you just can't finish is a skill every crafter should have. And I love those pictures...nothing makes me more happy than a good creative mess.
I have had projects I've just let go. In fact Valentine's this year. I love the day and I though I want everyone to know how much I love them and appreciate them. It just didn't get done. I feel bad but like you I'm moving on. Maybe I'll send them in March. Its a long month with not much going on besides my birthday :0
Your cards are so cute. That would make me quite happy to receive one of those for good mail :)
Think of the pretzels, chocolate, and toffee bits languishing on the basement shelves. . . . I love your terminology, "There is no use continually building up creative debt." Amen.
