geek

I read a feature in InStyle magazine about the "geek glasses" trend. That was over a year ago, and thanks to Susan--style maven and the woman whose style stamp of approval leads me to accept most any style--I now have a pair! They are charcoal, plastic, and without useful function. And I like them.

Granted, I look mildly cartoonish, (especially when they pick up glare from light bulbs and camera flashes) but again, I like them. I don't wear them everyday, but every so often, they make my day.

Jordin and I also decided today that paired with this particular hat (also courtesy of Susan) today, the glasses make me look like a character from a children's book. "Susie Four-Eyes." (Patent pending) What do you think?

Cartoon Emily! However much you can pull these off, this is yet another trend (remember the skull and crossbones excitement) that I just can't get behind.

I'll be looking for Susie Four-Eyes in Powell's.

...well, they do look a bit big on you!! But, I'm happy to know that you approve of the charcoal stylish color!

And, I didn't know that the trend ended a year ago! Holy Moly, what the?!

If anyone can carry it off, it would be you, my stylish maven niece. Good to hear from you...I guess you're busy!

I found the perfect glass reverse decoupaged plates at market for you...old ledger pages! I took some photos and will text them to you!

Carry on with style.

I am stuck on the fact that you're actually wearing lipstick in the top photo! Has my obsession finally rubbed off on you? It's a great color on you--LOVE it.

And I agree that--of anyone can pull off nerd glasses, it's you.

And Charlotte--say it right: it's "CAH-tooooon" Emily!

Well, I love them. And they're supposed to be big. I like the geeky, somewhat punkish not so mainstream trends anyway.

Is Susie Four-Eyes related to Waldo?
