take the long way home

I love my walk home from campus. At the end of the day, I leave campus knowing more than I did at the beginning, and the feeling of having filled my mind with information about accounting, the New Testament, and African Bushmen is thoroughly satisfying. I love distancing myself from the library, Tanner Building, and Eyring Science Center as I head toward the edge of campus. The ten or so minutes it takes me to walk back to my apartment serve as moments of solitude, when I am left with my iPod and whatever else is going through my mind. On my way home today, I decided to snap some pictures to capture my route.

Please note the friendly reminder written in creepy handwriting posted at the start of the path.
I also enjoy leaving campus because it means that I get to walk down the stairs instead of up.
Happy Friday!

*How do you get home at the end of the day?

I remember that route well!! And one of my favorite things about BYU was walking to and from campus -- a good time to pray, review the day, decompress, whatever.

Just think: In a few short years you will most likely already be home at the end of the day. Funny how life changes, eh?

Yesterday I had to wait at Grandma's house for Dad to pick me up so I could get home at the end of the day. Grandma and Grandpa had kindly let me borrow their car for the day. I was exhausted and glad to have a pot of ham and bean soup waiting on the stove when I got home.

Love you pictures! Are you liking your new camera?

I love your perspective on your walk home!

I climbed those stairs sooooo many times, it's fun to see them again. I think those walks back and forth to campus are a good thing. I used to pray a lot while walking to campus.
